Joining the Board are Taichi Hattori (former CFO of Indeed, Inc. \/ former CFO of SHIFT Inc.) and Michiko Kato (CIO &amp; Partner, Woven Capital \/ Representative Director and CEO of Toyota Invention Partners Inc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guided by its mission, &#8220;Delivering Fun and Innovative Mobility for All,&#8221; WHILL creates innovative personal mobility products and services on a global scale. These appointments are intended to further strengthen the company&#8217;s management foundation worldwide while expanding its strategic partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hattori is expected to contribute to business growth and stronger governance, drawing on the extensive management experience he gained in Japan and abroad as CFO of both Indeed and SHIFT. Kato is expected to help further strengthen strategic collaboration in the mobility and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) space, leveraging her broad investment experience together with the deep relationships and insight she has built in that field through Woven Capital and the <a>Toyota Group<\/a><a href=\"#_msocom_1\">[CK1]<\/a>&nbsp;. With both appointments, WHILL will further enhance its competitiveness in global markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the New Directors<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Taichi Hattori<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Former CFO, Indeed, Inc. \/ CFO, SHIFT Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (later NTT Communications) in 1998, where he was responsible for launching its international telephone business and managing overseas alliances. In 2006, he moved to Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd., taking on a wide range of roles including overseas business development, investment strategy, and business management. After leading Indeed Inc.&#8217;s M&amp;A project, he was seconded to Indeed in 2012. At the company&#8217;s U.S. headquarters, he served as Vice President, Senior Vice President, and CFO, contributing significantly to Indeed&#8217;s rapid growth. He subsequently joined SHIFT Inc. as CFO, where he played a central role in the company&#8217;s M&amp;A strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Comment on the Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe WHILL is a rare company that originated in Japan and has the potential to grow into a unique, one-of-a-kind global leader, while also making the world a better place as its business expands. I would like to contribute, even in a small way, to WHILL\u2019s mission by drawing on my experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Michiko Kato<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CIO &amp; Partner, Woven Capital \/ Representative Director and CEO, Toyota Invention Partners Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Handled investments and M&amp;A at Morgan Stanley, the International Finance Corporation, and Unison Capital, among others. After serving as CFO of ABEJA, she joined TRI-AD (later Woven by Toyota, Inc.) in 2020, where she helped launch Woven Capital and led global strategic investments. In 2022, she led the investment in WHILL. She currently serves as Representative Director and CEO of Toyota Invention Partners Inc., a strategic investment subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, and as CIO &amp; Partner at Woven Capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Comment on the Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WHILL is a Japan\u2011born company that is tackling global social challenges and creating a meaningful societal impact.
