Tokyo, Japan, April 3, 2023 – WHILL is pleased to announce the commercial launch of its WHILL Autonomous Service at Narita International Airport Terminals 1 and 2. This follows a series of successful implementation trials at various locations in each terminal, demonstrating stable operation and high demand for the service.
With the WHILL Autonomous Service, passengers can use autonomous mobility vehicles to travel from security checkpoints to their desired boarding gate with ease, using touch panel controls. This is particularly valuable for Narita International Airport, which is known for its busy international flights. To make the service even more accessible to a global audience, it is now available in six languages, including Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai.
The WHILL Autonomous Service is an ideal solution for all passengers, including those who require a wheelchair push service or who are concerned about walking long distances. It will help them move around the large airport comfortably and without hesitation, reducing wheelchair staff shortages and improving the customer experience.
WHILL will continue to work closely with Narita International Airport Corporation to expand the WHILL Autonomous Service to other areas and promote its business around the world, in line with its mission to delivery fun and innovative mobility for all.
WHILL connects the world with personal transportation solutions.
