Winnipeg Richardson International Airport
North America / Airports / Autonomous Service

This location marks the first permanent North American installation of WHILL’s autonomous mobility service. An estimated 1 in 3 travelers will need some form of assistance by the year 2038, making it is difficult for airports to meet the additional demands. This service helps airlines fulfill wheelchair push demands by allowing passengers to travel autonomously to their gates. The user selects their destination on a touch screen and the WHILL autonomous chair transports the passenger safely to their gate. The ride covers the entire route from check-in through the departure gate to provide a seamless travel experience.
