Notice: Improved Security for Bluetooth Communications
Please note that, to date, no confirmed customer impacts have been identified in connection with this matter.
WHILL recently addressed a theoretical Bluetooth vulnerability identified in certain consumer wheelchair models, specifically Model C2 and Model F. Importantly, the issue was promptly mitigated and we are not aware of any confirmed real-world incidents, exploitation, or injuries associated with this issue. WHILL’s commercial autonomous services are not impacted.
As part of our ongoing commitment to safety and security, WHILL has implemented additional enhancements in the latest firmware and strongly encourages users to keep their devices up to date via the WHILL app. Safety remains our top priority, and we continuously strengthen our systems through updates, testing, and collaboration with security experts. We encourage customers to follow general cybersecurity best practices including installing available software updates and using devices in accordance with published instructions.
